Title: 18K Gold 1940's Chronometre Lip Open Face Dress Pocket Watch 70.60 Grams
Description: This fine example of a French made pocket watch is signed Chronometre LIP, this company was quite popular in Europe however not many examples made it over the pond!
The dial is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks - it is 100% original and has not been refinished, we also have examined the crystal and there is no scratches or heavy scuffing - it is also in great condition,
The case is marked on the interior 18k and the case makers mark (also Lip we believe) on the exterior there is a maple leaf and sunray, there is a small oval that has the initials LH lightly engraved.
There are normal marks on the case from age use and storage.
We have wound and set the watch and it is running and keeps time - we only checked it over a 2 hour period.
As we do not have any service history and always recommend a full service for optimum time keeping.
