Details & Condition: Authentic Victorian Etruscan Revival Period Lava Cameo and Gold Brooch with a classically inspired portrait of a maiden with grape leaves and clusters in her hair. The gold frame has Etruscan style rope and beaded decoration. The frame x-ray tests as 14k on the back but appears to have a 21K gold flash on the surface to duplicate the original finish and color of 5th Century and earlier jewelry produced by the ancient Etruscan craftsmen. The brooch has matching earrings that have had the original wires removed and then retro fitted with gold filled earring wires.
