Description: Vintage Bulova 17J pocket watch from the Prince Of Wales line from 1925 / 1926.
This is the Gold filled version that originally cost $50 (over $700 in today's money!)
The watch came to us via an estate - it was a piece that came down through the family but has sat in a drawer for decades as nobody in the family wore pocket watches.
We wound it and it ran like a champ :) It kept good time only losing approx a minute.
Personally I do not know much about pocket watches - our watch guy is on vacation so I am listing this as best I can -as shown in the pictures. .
This piece winds and sets as it should - the crown has a cobalt Blue glass cabochon that is in excellent condition for it's 94 year old age - no cracks just a teeny nibble that is visible under high magnification.
The crystal is made from glass and looks to be original - no cracks, the case edge has beautiful hand engraving on the edge which is still quite sharp after all these years -absolutely no spots that are worn down.
There is some date engraving on the inner back case - probably from a service, these are dated 1926 and 1939 respectively.
The two things that I would like to point out is that the number 9 is worn / darkened and there is some dust particles on the inside of the crystal - we decided not to remove the mechanism and clean as we wanted it to be all original / as found.
Measurements are: 2 inches top to bottom including the bow and 1.65 inches wide.
